first_img Good hairbands for the price. My daughter loves these hair bands and they were really reasonably priced. I don’t know how long they will last but we have had them for 2 months and they haven’t bent or broken and are worn a lot. Pretty and not too big as my daughter has a tiny head. Sliver band broke in few days. Pink is ok, but is quite hard plastic and very tight for my 3 yr old. Brought these for a party for my twins very pretty bands very fast postage would reccommend these for any little girl. Lindelof United deserved more in the tie

first_imgVictor Lindelof felt Manchester United deserved more in their 1-0 loss to Juventus after an improved second-half display. The Old Ladies enjoyed the lion share of possession in the first half at Old Trafford which was duly rewarded by a solitary strike from Paulo Dybala to earn them a 1-0 win.Although the Red Devils were resurgent after the break, the closest they went to scoring was when former Juve midfielder Paul Pogba hit the post.harry maguire, manchester UnitedMaguire says United need to build on today’s win George Patchias – September 14, 2019 Harry Maguire wants his United teammates to build on the victory over Leicester City.During the summer, Harry Maguire was referred to as the ultimate…“I think we deserved more than to lose,” Lindelof told Football Italia.“In the last couple of games we played really well in the second half, we have to start the games the way we were in the second half.“The way we played in the second half we can take that to Juve. We know they are a great team but the way we were in the second half we need to do more often.”last_img read more

Didier Deschamps accepts responsibility for disappointing display

first_imgFrance national team manager Didier Deschamps said France couldn’t impress following Holland defeat which has kept them in danger of failing to qualify for the Nations League finals. However, the team hopes Germany would beat Holland on Monday to ensure a top spot in Group A1.The Coach on his own admitted responsibility alongside his players for their unimpressive game and surprise setback.“There was a team in front of us with a lot of envy and we were not good enough,” Deschamps was said via the French FA website as quoted by BT Sport.“In the aggressiveness, there was no picture tonight and it’s logical that this team from the Netherlands wins this match.”Opinion: Neymar will earn respect back from the PSG fans Tomás Pavel Ibarra Meda – September 14, 2019 After completing his incredible return to Parc des Princes, we predict that Neymar will earn the respect back from PSG supporters. The situation between Neymar…“And I do not exclude myself from this analysis.”Captain Lloris added that France must now  rely on Germany during the final group fixture.“The opponent was very strong. For our part, we did not meet the requirements of the highest level,” Lloris told L’Equipe.“We played below our potential and we paid for it. The score could have been more flattering for the Netherlands.“We must challenge ourselves after this defeat and hope for a victory for Germany.”last_img read more

SelfDriving Car Industry Eyes Devens for Test Site

first_imgA number of companies developing technology for autonomous vehicle are considering leasing space at Devens, the base reuse project located 35 miles west of downtown Boston, to take advantage of the property’s vacant neighborhoods for testing cars.“They’re looking for places they can test this technology,” said Thatcher Kezer, senior vice president at MassDevelopment, the agency that manages Devens.Industry has expressed a “high level of interest” in Devens, and the agency now is trying to determine the companies’ specific needs, Kezer told MassLive.com.Beyond generating additional revenue for MassDevelopment, the agency believes establishing Devens as a testing site for autonomous cars would help create a cluster of companies working on autonomous vehicles.“There’s a higher level of purpose here than just generating revenue off the land we own,” he said. “It fits with the larger economic development mission of the commonwealth.”With a demand for roads simulating real-life conditions, Devens is an ideal test site, according to Kezer.“Their need is space that’s open and clear of other objects so they can have a clean visual around the vehicle so they can do testing, and then they need areas that are very similar to real-world neighborhoods,” he said. “We have available space that meets those needs.”The former Concord Naval Weapons Station in northern California already has established a research and testing hub for self-driving cars and connected vehicles. Several automakers, including Honda and Mercedes-Benz, have reached agreements with the Contra Costa Transportation Authority to use the base’s GoMentum Station. Dan Cohen AUTHORlast_img read more

Research station on skis withstands Antarctic ice and snow

first_img Copyright 2013 Phys.org Citation: Research station on skis withstands Antarctic ice and snow (2013, February 5) retrieved 18 August 2019 from https://phys.org/news/2013-02-station-antarctic-ice.html Russia celebrates 50 years at Antarctic Seven blue modules contain living spaces and laboratories. In consideration of the residents’ psychological needs, a central red module, intended for use as a social space, contains communal dining areas, a hydroponic garden, and climbing wall. Colors were even chosen on the advice of a color psychologist. Construction of Halley VI began in Capetown, South Africa. The first modules were shipped to Antarctica at the end of 2007. Halley VI delivered its first scientific data in 2012. This document is subject to copyright. Explore further Credit: BAS Halley Research Station, devoted primarily to work in atmospheric science, was established by British Antarctic Survey in 1956. Halley researchers also perform glaciology and geology studies. Notably, scientists first recorded ozone layer depletion in the stratosphere above the Antarctic here.Antarctic conditions have caused problems for Halley research bases. Accumulated snow, measured at more than three feet per year, crushed buildings in the first four bases. Movement of the ice shelf toward the ocean at an annual rate of a quarter of a mile means that research stations are at risk of falling into the ocean when ice separates from the mainland. These factors give buildings that cannot be moved a lifespan of only ten years. Halley VI, commissioned in 2006, consists of eight connected modules, each of which sits atop hydraulic legs. The legs allow the individual modules to be raised above the snow. Additionally, placement of the modules at a right angle to the prevailing wind encourages snow to blow underneath the station. Skis positioned beneath the legs allow inland towing of each module, thereby minimizing its proximity to the ocean. Antarctica Halley VI Halley V had extensible steel legs, allowing operators to maintain the buildings above the snow’s surface. The legs, though raised every year, were eventually trapped in 75 feet of ice. Because the station was rendered immobile, it was carried along with the ice and was therefore at risk of plummeting into the ocean when the ice caved. In June 2004, the British Antarctic Survey and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) launched a competition to design a new research station. In addition to being able to cope with moving ice and heavy snow accumulation, this new station would have to provide psychological comfort to the station’s residents—around 70 in summer and around 16 in winter—who are at great risk of stress and depression related to the harsh Antarctic weather and permanent lack of sunlight in winter. The Halley VI Antarctic Research Station, designed by Hugh Broughton Architects, utilizes a modular design that incorporates hydraulic legs fitted with skis. This design allows Halley VI to survive in conditions that have destroyed its five predecessors. The Halley VI modules at the Halley VI site. Credit: British Antarctic Surveylast_img read more
