This is an in-house fight in the house of Xiaomi. With Amazon Summer Sale bringing some discounts, right now both the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi 6 Pro sell for Rs 9,999. So, which is better?advertisement Sneha Saha New DelhiMay 3, 2019UPDATED: May 3, 2019 11:46 IST HIGHLIGHTSAmazon’s Summer Days sale is live. For Prime members, the Summer Says sale begins today and will continue until May 7Non-prime members will get access to the offers of the Amazon Summer sale a day late on May 4.Amazon’s Summer Days sale is live. For Prime members, the Summer Says sale begins today that is May 3 and will continue until May 7. Like always the non-prime members will get access to the offers of the Amazon Summer sale a day late on May 4. During the Summer sale, Amazon India is offering big discounts on smartphones across segments and brands including on the OnePlus 6T, the Redmi 6, the Samsung Galaxy S9, among others. Last year’s Redmi 6 Pro is also selling with Rs 1,000 discount on Amazon today. The phone is available for Rs 9,999. This price is for the 4GB RAM model of the phone. The price for the base 3GB RAM model remains the same at Rs 8,999.This brings the Redmi 6 Pro in direct competition with the Redmi Note 7. So, should you buy the Redmi 6 Pro for discounted price of Rs 9,999 from Amazon today? Well, I believe at Rs 9,999 the Redmi Note 7 offers better value for the money. The Redmi Note 7 India price starts at Rs 9,999. The first reason why one should go for the Redmi Note 7 because it’s a brand new phone while the Redmi 6 Pro is almost eight months old, and newer phones get better software support. The big deal with the Redmi Note 7 is that it overhauls the Note series from Xiaomi, and that is also the reason why despite lacking the “Pro” part in its name, the Redmi Note 7 at Rs 9,999, is a better deal than the Redmi 6 Pro at the same price. The Redmi Note 7 looks good, comes with fresh hardware, offers improved camera performance, and runs latest Android Pie software based on MIUI 10 custom skin. The Redmi Note 7 sports a glass body, made using layers of Gorilla Glass 5, which is pretty rare for phones available under Rs 10,000. It looks slick and can almost pass off as a premium phone.advertisement In comparison, the Redmi 6 Pro comes with a polycarbonate body and feels slightly cheap now in 2019. The design and looks in itself give the Redmi Note 7 an advantage. This is what I said about the Redmi Note 7 design in the full review of the phone.”The Note 7 offers the same stunning glass design that we saw in the Redmi Note 7 Pro, and the fact that it comes in at a cheaper price is just the icing on the cake. It is very rare to find an under Rs 10,000 phone to come with the all-glass body so good job Xiaomi”Besides the design, the Redmi Note 7 also has fresh hardware when compared to the Redmi 6 Pro. The Redmi Note 7 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset that until now has been used only on expensive phones like the V11 Pro and others. In comparison, the Redmi 6 Pro comes with the old Snapdragon 625 processor. As far as the camera performance is concerned both the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi 6 Pro sport the same camera module on the back panel. Both the Redmi phones come with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Despite the fact that the two phones sport the same camera module I believe the Redmi Note 7 software seems to be better optimized and hence the phone is capable of clicking much better shots when compared to the Redmi 6 Pro. In most scenarios, I found that the Redmi Note 7 can click well-detailed pictures with good colours. For selfies too the Redmi Note 7 is a much better deal over the Redmi 6 Pro. The Note comes with a 13-megapixel camera on the front with lots of AI enabled features. In comparison, the Redmi 6 Pro uses a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. So, if you’re looking to buy a phone at Rs 9,999 in India right now, the Redmi Note 7 is a much better option when you compare it with the Redmi 6 Pro. At the same time, if you can splurge a little bit more – around Rs 3,000 – you can also opt the Redmi Note 7 Pro or the Realme 3 Pro, which are phones in a different league. Both the Realme 3 Pro and the Redmi Note 7 Pro sell for starting price of Rs 13,999 in India right now.ALSO READ | Amazon Summer Days sale brings major price cuts on OnePlus 6T, Mi A2, Galaxy M20 and moreALSO READ | Samsung Galaxy M20 discount during Amazon Summer Sale makes it a good deal under Rs 10,000ALSO READ | OnePlus 6T with 8GB RAM at Rs 32,999 is a deal you should not miss even if OnePlus 7 is comingGet real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story?
